The OpenBioMaps is an open-source, free-to-use toolkit specifically designed for biodiversity data used by conservationists and researchers. Thanks to the collaboration of some institutions, there is a free online database service (using OpenBioMaps) for individual databases founded by researchers, citizen science projects or educational projects.
