Researchers of the Laboratory for Botany and Phytochemistry have organised the meeting “2nd Young Lichenologists’ Workshop in Hungary”, this time in the building of the Danube Research Institute in Budapest. The program was opened by Péter Ódor, the director of the Institute of Ecology and Botany on Thursday afternoon. On Friday Sergey Kondratyuk (M. H. Kholodny Institute of Botany, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kiev) invited speaker presented lichenicolous taxa described by him, Edit Farkas (MTA ÖK ÖBI, Vácrátót) had a lecture on our research in secondary lichen chemistry, Rita Engel (MTA ÖK ÖBI, Vácrátót) spoke about HPLC-investigations in connection with our lichen, plant and mycorrhiza research. 13 lectures and 3 posters of 34 authors were prepared for this meeting. Participants represented five Hungarian, furthermore Brazilian, Croatian, Czech, Finnish, Italian, Latvian, Polish, Slovak and Ukrainian institutions.
Workshop field excursions took place in Buda Mts on Saturday, and on Sunday we visited Vácrátót botanical garden and nearby areas.
